Top of the Park Band Submissions The Ann Arbor Summer Festival receives hundreds of applications annually from performers around the country who are interested in appearing at Top of the Park. Each year, many new and returning artists are selected to play the admission-free outdoor event. Top of the Park programming is broadly accessible to the general public, and highlights a wide range of local, regional and national talent. The schedule typically features 50 musical acts. Last year, the line-up included more than 20 bands that were making their first appearance at Top of the Park. Submissions are evaluated based on type of performance, content, quality, diversity and potential audience appeal. The application deadline is March 1, 2008. Bands and performing artists wishing to participate at Top of the Park can submit materials through March 1, 2008. Applications must be received or postmarked no later than March 1. Materials received after this date will not be considered for the 2008 event. All genres accepted, including acoustic, alternative, Americana, bluegrass, blues, country, folk, funk, jam band, pop, reggae, rock, world and others. Selected artists are compensated for their performance. PLEASE NOTE: Although we consider Top of the Park submissions from national artists who have routing through our area, we are primarily looking to book talent from Southeast Michigan. Artists interested in playing our ticketed indoor series must be solicited by our programming staff or be represented by a national agent. If you choose to send a hard copy press kit, the Festival requests that you do not send master copies of CDs, DVDs and videos as the material you send will be held on file, and the Festival does not return materials as a matter of policy. Interested performers have two methods of application:
